Groundwater & Borewell Water Treatment
Groundwater can contain dissolved constituents that become troublesome after pumping and storage. Ozone oxidation may help prepare selected contaminants for removal, but water analysis must establish what treatment is actually needed.
Discuss Your ApplicationThe Treatment Challenge
Iron, manganese, odour-causing compounds and microbial contamination may occur alongside hardness or dissolved salts. Their concentrations and chemical forms can differ between borewells and change with pumping conditions.
How Ozone Helps
Ozone can oxidise susceptible dissolved constituents into forms more amenable to downstream treatment. For some metals this creates particles that still require separation; ozonation does not remove hardness, salinity or every dissolved contaminant.
Process engineering
Technical Treatment Approach
A borewell-water assessment guides feed-gas preparation and ozone generation. An injection and contact stage provides mixing before appropriate filtration. Residual ozone, flow and relevant constituent measurements support operation, with tank off-gas routed to destruction.
Key Benefits
- Can prepare selected dissolved constituents for filtration
- May address oxidation-responsive taste or odour issues
- Supports treatment tailored to a tested groundwater source
System Integration
Media filtration or clarification removes oxidation products. Activated carbon, softening or RO may address separate water-quality needs, and a drinking-water use requires a complete disinfection and storage strategy.
Engineering & Automation
PLC sequencing can link borewell pumping, ozone generation and filter operation. HMI status, pressure and flow sensors, residual alarms and interlocks may be supplied, with remote monitoring options for dispersed installations.
Available depending on system configuration and project requirements.
Important Design Considerations
Actual groundwater quality, flow, contaminant load and intended use establish dose, contact time, transfer efficiency and performance criteria. Assess pH, bromide where relevant, filter loading and the possibility of oxidation by-products before selecting the treatment train.
